Still ticking of the 'G' boxes
Re: Still ticking of the 'G' boxes
George,
My "15" was a mere estimate, and clearly over-egging it! I went to check, and including the 5 "Regular" models which were always without new, I have just 10 out of around 105 - so less than 10%
The other 5 I have without "New" are:
23 VW Camper
34 Formula 1
45 Ford Group 6
50 Kennel Truck
69 Rolls Royce
All of these are long runners without H or I boxes except the Group 6, which supports Johnny's theory. I note that all three picture variations of the 58 Girder Truck in my collection have "New".
Cheers,
Gavin

Nice boxes, Rob!
I'd say that the Racing Mini and Ford Group 6 boxes are hard to find.
The Ford Pick-Up and Mercury Commuter are less common than the 'NEW' boxes but can be found in reasonable numbers, while the Rat Rod is probably the most common of the five you've shown.

Hi John, thanks for the comments. I have been going through my boxes and found 4 more without NEW to endflaps...

Re: Still ticking of the 'G' boxes
Well, it looks as though I can stop ticking. For the time being anyway.
After what seems like an eternity, I've got my hands on a 25 Ford Cortina GT 'G' box without 'NEW' to the end flaps: -
It isn't perfect but as the old saying goes, condition only matters when you've already got one.
Christian Falkensteiner lists a 48 Dodge Dumper without 'NEW' on his website but there isn't a scan of it, suggesting he doesn't have one in his collection. The listing states that it has red 'TM' marks which would make it an earlier variant. If it does exist, it must therefore be an error piece as the later boxes without 'TM' retained the 'NEW' designation.

Re: Still ticking of the 'G' boxes
Great find with the Cortina John, I will keep an eye out now for that one. I know the 48 Dodge Dumper Truck exists with both NEW and without NEW, I will try and get a photo for here so we can all see it.

I was aware that there were 'I' box variations with and without 'NEW'.
Be interesting to see a similar 'G' box, even if it means that I have to add another to my tick list!
Re: Still ticking of the 'G' boxes
Hi all. I'm also hunting for these with and without "NEW" G type boxes. Some of the latter are tricky to get. Johnny Pimp, you seem to list 30 pairs in existence. I only know of 28, being : 03A - 06A - 08b - 10A - 18A - 19b - 21A - 22b - 23A - 24A - 25A - 29b - 34A - 35A - 36b - 38A - 42A - 45A - 47A - 49A - 50A - 52A - 62b - 67A - 68A - 69A - 71A and 73A. What am I missing ?
