#27 Cadillac

Post by Taxidad »

On another note has anyone ever seen a #27 Cadillac in the White with Blue roof as pictured in the early pocket catilogs? A beater or other wise? I guess they had to exist since they are pictured in at least two early catologs.

I certainly haven't, and I've never heard of one either. (In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if some of them had No. 76 on the baseplate!)

One of the pre-production models recently sold at Vectis for £950, that's almost $1,180+ dollars converted and with the commission closer to $1400. Too steep for my pockets but here is a picture of the model courtesy of Vecti's Auctions. It is white roof with a blue base. Would love to see the one pictured in the catalog.

No windows, presumably indicating that the model was still under development when the photograph was taken.

I have never seen or heard of that Great colour combination being held in any collection, but it certainly has been a dream of any Lesney collector who has ever seen these early catalogs as shown here......What "Eye Candy" in such a pre-pro colour combination and without its glazing. You are certainly right Hugh about it still being under development when this picture was taken. NOT a factory Cadillac colour combination by any stretch, but unique and very memorable to say the least. kwakers
