I have found a way of making the posts appear in number form by adjusting Two drop-down menus, then clicking on the 'GO' box next to them. This I have tested and it does work, but to work properly so any forum member can go directly to a particular model casting, some editing was needed to the topic titles.
Below is the test posts I created which are based on 'Georges 1-75 regular wheels casting show' topic titles but with the model's number moved to the beginning of the topic title.
NOTE: Casting 4 is deliberately missing from the image above.
Without editing the topic titles, the adjustment works and puts the Topic Titles in order, but it will place all the 1's, 2's and 3's etc in order, but that order will end up something like this...
1,
2,
22,
3,
3c,
...so on and so on.
I have already edited the first Four topic titles in George's RW casting show (George, hope you understand why I have done this!), so now when the adjustment is made in those Two drop-down menus+Go, the order will be correct, allowing us to go directly to the model we want (assuming you know the model's catalogue number... ).
I have not found a way to lock the adjustments so every time you visit the section to go to a particular model, they will appear all mixed up again, just make the adjustment yourself.

UPDATE:
I have been editing a few more Topic Titles such as casting number 12 and when I make the menu adjustments, it puts #12 directly under #1 which is not ideal, so some tweaking with the titles needs to be done.
If each title had the name of the model after it's catalogue number, it will put all makes of vehicle together in Alphabetical order, so you will get the Ford vehicles together etc.
Using the 'Sticky' option may help if it is possible to move posts up and down in the order so we can move casting number 12 away from casting number 1, then 'Sticky' it. I do not have the right to use the 'Sticky' option so can not test this idea.

The solution is to use '01' instead of just '1', then the thread titles will sort properly.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:I have been editing a few more Topic Titles such as casting number 12 and when I make the menu adjustments, it puts #12 directly under #1 which is not ideal, so some tweaking with the titles needs to be done.

Re: Superfast Casting # 65
Yes I believe it will, tried it on the first Four titles, but will go onto double figure titles to make this certain.

Hello Kevin, thank you for your work, but when I need to check up on a model I just go to my Casting Show.
Were it shows Search This Topic I click on this box and just put in what # I require such as 43a then click Search.
Then Casting 43 comes up, and above that shows Casting 43 just click on that and the whole #43 Casting Show
comes up.
This seems so easy to find any # model one wants to look at as long as one knows the # they want.

Re: Putting 'Topic Titles' in order.
Hello George.
Yes I know the search function works in that way, but so many forum members do not use it and so many of us Brits like wasting time looking up and down lists and it has been asked before about having them in order but crucially keeping them in order.
You will have noticed I have moved the model number in front of the word 'Casting' and rejigged a few other titles that are made up of general comments and observations posted on the back of your regular format.
Now, even if you posted them in an order of Casting #1, Casting #2, and Casting #3, the platform in use by 'phpBB' says..."we don't like that, lets move them around and have a bit of fun" and this may well be due to the times of posting which is difficult to manage and once posted impossible to change
The changes I have made do not take anything away from your initial hard work and for a lot of us I hope it has given easier access to particular models.
Take care George, here's to your upcoming Birthday...
