Thanks for the juicy info kwakers. I figured that if anyone had identified another one of these mixed wheel 67b's, they were probably on this forum.
I also love the errors which to me represent something like the Ghost in the Machine. I've never had the opportunity to enjoy a freakish model like this firsthand however, and I acquired this one through simple dumb luck alone. I would like to think that I would have noticed the different wheel even if it had been installed correctly, but maybe not. This is extra cool for me because 67b is one of my favorites anyway--the exact car I used to drive in high school. My first car! Weirdly enough, my old VW was crashed on one rear quarter and was missing the hubcap on that wheel.
Thanks to all, I really appreciate the knowledge and experience. I haven't decided what I will do with this yet but if I put it up for sale I will be sure to offer it to forum members first on the marketplace section.
