#67 Datsun 260 with silver base.

Post by tjlglass »

Found this in a charity shop last week, having had a good inspection of it I'm sure it's original despite the silver paint reacting the the metal on the model. Got a toolbox carry case full of models for £5 and this was in it. Thoughts please

Timbo, I have never seen a base like it!

It would appear that something has gone wrong in the casting process. Certainly looks like it left the factory like that.

Perhaps Tim can clarify the problem for us, because I think it is not a casting fault we are looking at, more like unmixed paint that has had a tough time getting out of the nozzle of the spraying machine.

It could be either Kev ? The base might have had something on it that the paint didn't like or there could have been a little splutter in the nozzle of the sprayers, can't really tell to be honest.
