This thread seems like it would fit well under "Tinman's Restoration Handbook".
Would people be open to moving it there so it can be easily found in the future?

I hope Pete posts the results of his experiments.

Hi Tinman haven't done much on the base plates , owing to having a bad chest infection for a couple of weeks & having four bottom teeth out in hospital last Friday not felt like doing anything Pete.

Hi Sven, haven't had much luck with the base plates, i have used jiff & tooth paste makes a bit of difference always worried about rubbing the paint off the model, i think went they are really tarnished it seems to bite into the metal. Pete.
