i saw this auction on ebay.de and wondered, why they paid so much for a bad repaint. Is it for the blue base and in hope to rescue it in brake fluid? On the second photo one can clearly see the original peach paint.

Re: Why did they pay so much?
Hi all, i was bidding on a empty F2 Grey Hound coach box last night, I went to £40 i thought i was being bid up at this stage so i backed off. Next couple of bids it went up to £102. I know its a hard box to find but somebody must have wanted it more than me Pete.
Re: Why did they pay so much?
I also bid on this box but like you i was shocked at the winning bid, i recently won for the same amount a mint GT40 with the

Hi Dave I don't mind paying a bit over the odds but I think £102 was double what it was worth, there will be another one Pete.
Re: Why did they pay so much?
Yes i usualy have a figure that i am willing to go depending on how badly i want that item
but not pay well over the odds.

Some people have more expendable income than sense. Either that or a shill was involved.
I hope the seller doesn't ship the box in a jiffy bag.

It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
Re: Why did they pay so much?
Even at half that price I would still have expected a model in the box as well. Way to much money imho.petethesweet wrote:Hi all, i was bidding on a empty F2 Grey Hound coach box last night, I went to £40 i thought i was being bid up at this stage so i backed off.
