Re: Happy New Year!
Had to check to see when I last posted! It was on 30 July just after our daughter was born and I have been changing nappies and washing baby clothes since. I also managed to finally land a proper job after some months of relief work and am a transport co-ordinator (bit grand sounding for what I do) at a community transport organisation. This year probably won't be much quieter, we are nearly finished the long winded process of buying a croft complete with house in need of total renovation - you can currently stand in the living room and look up to see the sky....motorman wrote:Where have you been Ewan? I disposed of nearly all my diecast, the main thing I retained being the pre war Crescent garage scene. I have no regrets on this as the buzz of finding things gives me more joy than actually possessing them although it was a bit daft of me to also dispose of most of my books. Expect much in the way of 'Who made this?' posts in 2017 as my poor memory is exposed. Anyway, I made the mistake of going on ebay a few nights ago so there is already one lump of playworn metal carrying no makers name on it's way to Benbecula, and hopefully more to come - happy days
Re: Happy New Year!
New family take priority Ewan and it looks like you will have your work cut out to get the croft house re-roofed. It will be worth it in the end. I used to spend many summers on Skye with my ex wife visiting her family members who all, lived in working crofts, it was hard work for them but very rewarding. Good luck with your latest purchase of used scrap hopefully there will be a few nice pieces amongst it. Great to have you posting again and please visit when you can mate. All the best and hope your new baby is doing well.

Hello Ewan
Great to see you are around!
Congratulations on your new baby and your new/old croft.
Both are projects of a lifetime and worth your efforts and attention. The diecast are great because they will wait in a box for a few days or a few months or longer until you need or want a little diversion; and we are here too enjoying and discussing diecast and you can join in anytime.
Enjoy your family and your home!
All the best for the New Year
