Poor packaging leaves me fuming!!

Post by motorman »

Thanks to another member I became aware of another SF#52 Dodge Charger with amber glass as a very cheap BIN. I bought it due to its rarity, and despite it being a little playworn it was intact and would still display well

It arrived today in a cheap padded envelope and to my dismay the glazing has been smashed in transit.

Flipping mad I am, I have asked for a full refund!!!

Hi I know how you feel. I have had dozens of matchbox sent in various package. The biggest disappointment i had was a mint Isogrifo in a F box delivered to me in a tessco bag, I asked the seller to put it in a box for me & make sure it was packed well. The reply he came back with was he had already packed it. I think i lost a tenner on that deal Pete.

What a shame mm, it's happened to me on numerous occasions too. A great model, that's lasted all these years, now ruined :x

here in the us it has many issues
lost about 15 cars
they force sellers to use the inflated shipping $7-10 per car 1 ship 1 win no waiting for more to end,
it is no faster than the correct box $4-5 shipped with,8-10 items well packed from good sellers that dont conform.

sellers dont like the end bid or live off shipping so $9-12 shipping item may arrive in a $2 bag or too small box
too avoid penalties for bad points ,some have gone too far and over pack+ inflated epay ship, $12-20 per package which is fine but they insist on 1 win 1 ship = no bid or $2 bid ,many times they are great cars just 2-3x over value

after repeated complaints on cost, certain BTO's offer decent packing ,included with the inflated open or BIN making a $6 car into $15, again strictly 1 win 1 ship is how you have to pay but 8-10 would arrive in the same $12 box

had a Y-4-2-3-c with gold men mint destroyed in correct box
they would only refund shipping not replacement which I had payed extra for, there is no human available to contest online decision

I now video EVERY package arrival to inventory, has helped but over $50 is

On the plus side (if there is one) I'm not sure if that glass is amber or weathered/smoke as the sides look lighter.

I had noticed that Tim, however the glazing that remains intact within the canopy of the vehicle protected somewhat from the light and general environmental exposure is definately amber, if anything the glazing has darkened over time owing to the shading difference.

Sorry about your disappointment MM but hope u find another amber glass Charger soon enough ;)
Some sellers disrespect their buyers and this is the evidence. They simply lack consideration and basic common sense with no cure in sight!

Alex,
So sorry that this happened -- especially on such a hard to find model!
Any of us that have done much on Ebay have all experienced this -- even after sending a note to Seller regarding shipping, wrapping, etc
While there will ALWAYS be some bad and inept people on Ebay, I still think there are a considerable number of decent folks on Ebay. It is just too bad that the "bad eggs" continue to make it difficult for everyone................
Hoping you have a good 2017.
