VBD HAS BEEN UNABLE TO CONFIRM THE AUTHENTICITY OF ANY MODELS PICTURED IN POSTS BY TAXIDAD. THEREFORE, THE FACT THAT A PARTICULAR VARIATION IS DEPICTED DOES NOT PROVE THAT IT WAS EVER MANUFACTURED BY LESNEY, NO MATTER HOW AUTHENTIC IT MAY APPEAR.

Thank You Taxidad for your Great pictures of some of your Lesney Regular Wheel "Rares". That Black Plastic Wheeled #73 A looks like it is one of the rarest "Holy Grail" variations by anyone's standards, and one of my dream variation 'hopes' to be able to find an example of for over 40 years now.
It is also nice to see yet another 3 line GPW Jaguar has survived, having introduced ours as the only example (in 1971) of that early casting and wheel combination known to East Coast U.S. collectors. With other examples known to several U.K. collectors, my estimate is that 20 of that "pre-production" Jaguar are now known and held by some of the most secretive Lesney collectors worldwide.
Welcome to our Forum, and Thanks Again for your Great Rares! kwakers

I've had them for a long time didn't know how rare they were until I found this web site. Just had an old Charlie Mack book.

Idris wrote:The pale blue 29b was initially though to be a genuine variation. However, the way the model was painted was an initial all-over coat of the roof colour followed by an overspray of the body colour but with a mask over the roof and boot, and pale blue models have come to light with scratches in the metallic green which have pale green showing through. It has therefore been concluded that the pale blue paint originally started off as pale green and has changed colour over the years through exposure to light or air. This is also true of at least some (if not all) of the pale blue 21c Commer milk floats.
Right, faded, altered by chemicals or whatever, it's a damaged model and not a rare model.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

I have been looking for an example of that odd bluish coloured roof 29B for quite some time now and have been outbid on several of them through the last few years. I am so happy with my 21 Milk float in Blue, (painted uniformally both inside and out on the body as well as in its wheel wells), I would like to find a 29B just like Taxidad's colour variant. Bob Brennen's NAMC Guide called the "Blue" roof a variation in 1971, but I was outbid on that same model he had in his collection when it was sold a couple of years ago.
Faded, damaged, any way we EACH can view them as collectors Joe, Caveman kwakers considers the blue roofed 29B and the "blue" 21 Milk Trucks both rare and desirable. Even if it were just a particular batch of green paint supplied for use at the Lesney factory on both these models that changes its colour over time, enough have survived to be of Great interest to a detailist like myself. I have a few oddly faded models I keep for my "Side" collection enjoyment also, but looking at Taxidad's 29B VERY even roof paint tone makes me drool over it as a very special model with no signs of fading at all.
No harm done in disagreeing once in a while with Joe and Hugh here on our Forum, it makes my hobby much more interesting. One man's 'fade' is another's eye candy, that's all...... kwakers

I agree if you could see it in person you'd swear it's a factory paint job. Even the rivets match! That's why I was bumfuzzled. The metallic blue is flawless with no green in it, same with the light blue. If it's sun fade how did the sun get under it? The black base shows no discolor nor the wheels? I believe it's a variation but that's just me. I've watched the various posts since joining in February but since I'm a novice I felt uncomfortable saying anything. Merry Christmas to all!

Even if the blue 29b (and perhaps also 21c) are nothing more than the result of time and a dodgy batch of paint, I can still see a strong case for regarding them as a collectable variation, albeit with the caveat that they did not leave the factory that way.

Hi Taxidad, thanks for your latest pics of your collection.
Wont u be so kind as to post a clear close-up pic of the SPW base rivet area only. Not sure if this marked area is light reflection or rivetting tool damage.Use makro setting on camera.
Thanks in advance,

Is there something wrong with my stuff? You seem to be trying to find faults? This is why I sort of didn't want to post. Its sort of if you have nice rare cars your an oddity. These are all old stuff I have in storage. I would advertise I collect old MB and through the years people would sell or trade. I'd basically collect the ones that Charley Mack said were rarer. I do have non-rare stuff too.
