My rare stuff and questions
My rare stuff and questions
I have a few rare Matchbox that I have picked up over the years. I also have a different colored #29 as you can see. Any idea if this was a prepro, or made in the factory for an individual? Thanks I removed the old photos since they were too big

Re: My rare stuff and questions
Welcome. File sizes are way too large making them load slowly, jump around and difficult for me to see ... but from what little I have seen, the Austin is sun faded. The others are too difficult for me to view.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
Re: My rare stuff and questions
I don't think it's sun faded the rivets are the same color as the top as you can see.

Good Day, I have resized the photos to make them easier to view.

The pale blue 29b was initially though to be a genuine variation. However, the way the model was painted was an initial all-over coat of the roof colour followed by an overspray of the body colour but with a mask over the roof and boot, and pale blue models have come to light with scratches in the metallic green which have pale green showing through. It has therefore been concluded that the pale blue paint originally started off as pale green and has changed colour over the years through exposure to light or air. This is also true of at least some (if not all) of the pale blue 21c Commer milk floats.
On a more positive note, at first glance that BPW 73a looks good.

Old stuff and questions
Here is some of my old matchbox cars that are sort of rare. Also my two #29 that appear to have two different colours. I posted before but the pictures were too large so I'm trying again.

Re: My rare stuff and questions
Hi Taxidad,i extend to u our warm welcome onto this exciting forum and thanks for showing off your models.
Upon viewing the pics of your #44 Silver Rolls Royce i noticed that the baseplate had been overpainted dark/bluish grey. Was this done by you? If yes,was there a particular reason?
Further, ive noticed that your GPW Jaguar has what seems to show color-hazing exactly where the words/text "Matchbox Series" usually sits.Could u please inspect closely and explain what that could be but the better option would be to add a clear close-up pic of that particular area if u dont mind.
Ive also noticed what seems to be a chip off the left rear wheel/hub axle area but i could be wrong. Here again a clear close-up pic of this broken off area and axle-end would help.
Thanks in advance.
