hitachi corgi porsche 911 turbo car

Hi, my first post on this forum,i have this porsche 911 turbo with an hitachi logo on it, has anyone seen one of these before , thanks, Ken

Never seen that before Ken, I take it that it's Chinese ? Nevertheless a nice find and I would imagine very hard to find, welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the reply tjlglass, it came attached to something i bought at an airshow in the early 1980s, just trying to find out a bit about it, whether its rare or if there`s many more about.

Corgi did make a Metrobus in the same livery and limited it to 5000 examples in the mid 80's. If this comes from the same period (can we see the other sides of the box please), it could have been part of a set with the Bus as a promotion item for members of staff at the UK headquarters of Hitachi.

I used to deliver courtesy cars to them at this address...Sefton Park, Bells Hill, Stoke Poges, Bucks, but don't remember seeing any models on site.

Thank's Ken. Standard base for this model from this period. Our resident Corgi experts seem to be Holiday or else we might have had some info from them. I would certainly keep it for now.

I have the Metrobus in Hitachi livery but have never seen this Porsche model... what scale is it?

Hi toysnz, i dont know the scale, all i can tell you it is 10cms long and 4 cms wide, i hope that helps, regards Ken

Ok ... so its the larger size Corgi and since a Porsche 911 is about 4.29 metres long this would make your model approx. 1:43 scale.
