I have been in contact with the current owner of the Racing Mini resin prototype. He has examined the model for me and says that in terms of width and length, it is near as hang the same as the production model, being a mere 3mm longer. On that basis, I think the idea of there being ;narrow' pre-production Minis in circulation is debunked. I would also suggest that it calls into doubt whether the Mini was designed and then redesigned, i.e. widened, for the Superfast track, although it is always possible that a narrow resin prototype may surface one day.

Great pictures Steve, showing the early version with hinges and small sticker then the production version with the large label.
I do not think you will find a narrow one of these Mini,s,I do know the model with door hinges is exactly the same as the production version.(with some slight differences of course)
