Took a bit of searching, once I'd found out which colour schemes I had in the Dinky range, to find any photos of real vehicles that came close tothe same colour scheme... Wiki commons is often my friend in such cases

Ok guys - took me some time but this is the Dinky 14a BEV Electric Truck...



And here is a real one delivered to the London Docks in 1929... obviously Dinky modeled theirs on a much later model


And this post 1926 one was auctioned off some time back...

Thank's Bako, it looks like she has already been rallying before you took the pictures. I had This Dinky, was not my favourite model and despite your pictures, I thought they messed up on the hinge design for the boot meaning it did not open very well!

Here is what has become a rare sight in Austria - I remember when Mk I Transits were everywhere... Although I have never seen one with a sliding driver door like the Dinky - maybe such doors were not made in Cologne where our Fords came from.

This is a real former German fire brigade vehicle with equipment installed by German specialist Metz - it still has "Freiwillige Feuerwehr Allensbach" (Allensbach Volunteer Fire Brigade) on the doors although the large Feuerwehr lettering and blue lights had to be covered. (The red covered lights now look like the lights on Corgi's Bedford Simon Snorkel where they also were just painted red instead of blue plastic parts.)

The only other two Dinkys I have in my immediately accessible collection with side (rather than centre) hinged boots are the French Dinky Peugeot 504 and Volvo P1800s, does anyone know of any others?

Here is another .... of which I have a question about.
The Dinky 436 Ford 400E Atlas Copco compressor truck.
I had this new back in the 1960's and I recall that it came complete with a figure holding a pneumatic drill and flexible tubes (cables) to connect the figure to the rear of the chassis.
However, all the mint and boxed examples I have ever seen since do not have the figure or the flexible attachments and Google images turns up nothing.
Your sister website [ http://www.vintagebritishdiecasts.co.uk ... ky436x.htm ] also does not mention the figure.
I am beginning to think I imagined the figure BUT, if I did, why are the holes there at the rear of the model, as plain as day?

The Two holes are designed for the accessory pack, 'Road Maintanance personnel' with the Guy holding the drill to connect.
