Re: spot the gem
What an awesome lot!
They're All gems from my perspective, the blue trailer and green cab unit on the right hand side would be my guess, but I have no idea who they are by.
Looking forward to closer shots in due course.
Cheers
Dave

Yellow roller - possibly a repaint
Re: spot the gem
I too was wondering about the yellow roller, but the large-scale Lesney version has not been found in an original yellow finish. I think it might be the blue Dinky van in the middle which appears to have smooth hubs and therefore, if so, is almost certainly pre-war.

Re: spot the gem
Well done to all that picked the yellow lesney roller has the gem, this is in my opinion the gem
Has for makers there were ten, dinky, lesney, timpo, chad valley, mettoy ,TTI,CPL,TAL?,BRIMTOY?,JOHN HILL?,the ones with question marks i am only about 90% sure.
I had the parcel thursday,a dealer friend from around the corner came friday,he needed a bit more stock for sunday, and had all the dinkys,i don,t think there was anything special, the hubs on the blue van were painted silver by hand, the best in the dinky lot were the two jeeps so sorry can,t do pics of them but the others are what i collect so heres some pics, the lesney bedford was handy and is just for scale.
I will start another reply with yellow roller pics.

Re: spot the gem
YELLOW ROLLER
Its a big statement to say you have found an unlisted colour so looked hard and checked the casting, its a first issue casting with no strengthening of the body for the rear brace,so its early,in my conclusion,it could not have been painted yellow while together, theres no way to paint behind the rear wheels so it must either have been painted before assembly or stripped down, the front and rear rivet axles show no signs of tampering so i came to the conclusion its real, this yellow has been used on the bulldozer and condons mine truck so it was around then, the only fly in the ointment i could see was a " paint run " in the paint on the rear, this really bugged me until i got my three best first issue rollers together and saw all three had " paint runs" in the rear ,also just has important its not sprayed in all the right places to,something a restorer would do just to tidy a model.
I would like to add to idis/micks list that the second issue with the red rollers can also be found without the strengthening ,i just need a tan with black wheels(only one known)for my line up.
