These look a bit wrong to me. The rivets don't look right, especially on the tan Morris Oxford.
Any thoughts ? They are being sold as original (not repaints) and one wrong 'un sets the alarms ringing for the rest.

I’m definitely no expert when it comes to Dinky toys, but I would agree with you that the rivets do not look correct:
- There does not appear to be any black paint underneath the rivets, and
- The rivets are countersunk in slightly non-circular wells.
Taken together, I would say that the evidence points to the original rivets having being drilled out.
If memory serves, this particular seller (the Manchester Model Shop selling on Ebay as manchestermodelshop) has been called into question before in regards to Matchbox RW sales.

Yes the rivets on that Oxford (and the rest) look totally suspect but on another, more pleasant note ....
I called in to Leicester Vintage and Old Toy Shop to browse their wares a few weeks ago (quite difficult to find) and saw a Dinky model at what I thought was a really cheap price ... his prices aren't bad anyway but this was mega cheap for what it was. It looked genuine to me but he was quick to point out that it was a restoration. I did have to look very closely and in the end I have to say it was very hard to tell.
This shop is priced very fairly in my opinion. He will buy from you and he doesn't get offended by a haggle (so long as you don't take the pee).

I agree the rivets do look suspect, but when compairing them with a slightly later model, the Rolls-Royce from 1959, they are very close.
Note the rear rivets, very similar to the rivets on the Oxford and the tiny central countersink is common, not becoming fully closed (a domed rivet), until the 1960's.
The rivets on the Rolls-Royce clearly show the effects of being 'Spun Down' to the baseplate, something not evident on the Morris Oxford and this may be the key and considering the expense of the model I would hold of from buying it until further comments come forward (Chris, are you reading this...
).

Im no Dinky or Corgi expert but i can tell u this much that the rivets on the Oxford have been spun and looks factory to me.Model looks genuine with blemishes/marks commensurate with slight handling and age.Note the flatting of the tires.This is not a base-pop or swop specimen.

I'd be very cautious on buying just from those photo's, it could be genuine but things I would be concerned about are:
The Botton rear rivet has a black inclusion in the burr surrounding the rivet, this could be innocuous or it could be black paint the photo isn't good enough to tell
The big concerns for me is the thick looking paint under the guards, these models were sprayed from the side on a fast moving line and it is relatively unusual to not have a thinning of the paint in these areas as they are not hit directly by the spray fan but more likely to just get overspray.
Also without a direct front on shot it is hard to see whether the grill and lights have been mask sprayed. The silvering just looks too bright and not like the usual Dinky sprayed grills which look "softer" in colour. A front on shot showing feathering of paint towards the edge of the mask would be a definitive indicator that it is genuine.
In summary it is Too hard to be certain on the photo's.
The two examples of this colour scheme in the Dinky listing of the main site here changed hands 8 or so years ago for approx' half the asking price of this one.
