Super GTs
Re: Super GTs
Wow! These look cheap, at least for back then, as some modern ones look even cheaper! Were these a budget line back in the day?

Re: Super GTs
They were obviously intended to be a budget line, as the "BR" prefix of the numbers cast on the bases stands for "Budget Range".cody6268 wrote:Wow! These look cheap, at least for back then, as some modern ones look even cheaper! Were these a budget line back in the day?
However, as they tended to be sold at small shops such as newsagents and stationery shops rather than toy stores or department stores - at least here in my area - , they were usually rather more expensive than the basic MB Miniatures range and harder to find too.
Re: Super GTs
Going through some GTs I just bought and found the Flamin Manta with 2 different English bases.
Re: Super GTs
A couple of pre-pro models.
Fire Chief : Iso Grifo : Ignore the upper part of the base pic, its a production model, the pre-pro has a painted gloss black base.

Thanks, I have not noticed this before. One more thing to check!ogedei2 wrote:Going through some GTs I just bought and found the Flamin Manta with 2 different English bases.
Not a big surprise, as I believe two moulds each were used for the baseplates of all Super GT models. Some feature more or less obvious differences while others don't.

Re: Super GTs
Is that a painted plastic base or a metal base?ogedei2 wrote: Ignore the upper part of the base pic, its a production model, the pre-pro has a painted gloss black base.
