Great video!
It took me 30 mins to do 6 stops from Green Park Station the other Sunday, would of walked but it was lashing down, I reckon the buses in 1910 were moving much faster.

Maybe you should've tried a Taxi (I agree great video !)
A new addition, I'm now starting to add older Dinky toys to my collection, but the prices I love those prewar cars.

Nice example of the little Dinky 'TAXI'. I see it has the closed rear window, so presumably it has the large MADE IN ENGLAND etc and closed base hole.

The odd thing with this model is that no real car make was offered by Dinky in their catalogue or advert illustrations and I think the general assumption is that it is just loosely based on the Austin Seven.

As far as I know it was based on the Austin LL (Low Loader, sometimes Light Landaulette), which uses the 12/4 chassis. Do we know if this been established as such in the Dinky community.

The oldest and most likely the most expensive piece in my slowly growing collection.

As this example has the 3 hole chassis, I believe it to be pre-war.
I'll be on the hunt for a few other pre-war models to join this one in the garage, an Armstrong-Siddeley would look great parked along side

Hi Felix, it does look right for being a pre-War example especially with the open chassis, smooth wheel rims (you don't say what axle size it has), and if original (looks it), that nice medium Blue colour.

We know and have come to expect one of those details to cross over into post-War production, this is natural as the factory started to gear up for full time production again and parts in stock were brought back into production, but for all the details is pushing it a bit, so I think you have a winner there.

I really like the Rolls, very nice find. I have very few pre war models simply because of the cost of these items, but the charm of them is undeniable.

Dinky Toys, once one of the greatest names in the toy industry. The name 'DINKY' was first seen in printed media in late 1934, it was derived from the spoken term of Dinkie, a term that was used to describe miniature toy vehicles designed as accessories for the Hornby 'O' gauge railway system. They were first marketed as 'Modelled Miniatures' from December 1933, later to be changed into 'Dinky Toys'.

A Rolls-Royce similar to the model shown above was first shown in printed media during November 1935, priced at 9d (9 old pennies!), as part of a Four car '30 Series' which included...

30a, Chrysler 'Airflow'.
30b, Rolls-Royce.
30c, Daimler.
30d, Vauxhall.

Production was suspended during 1941.
