Re: #45a Vauxhall Victor Dash Brace Question
I just got done talking to the owner of the victor that was just sold recently and he agreed to sell it to me for a little more then he paid.

I hope that's not the one pictured on the brown table you 1st posted, because that was mine and I sold it to a collector in the USA ?

Nice one, thought you were being duped by a bogus seller using my pictures.

Sorry I do not remember that red example with the pips mentioned above.yellowfoden wrote: From memory I think John N from the Netherlands showed us a RED 45a without brace but with pips but I can not recall if the conclusion was factory, Christian may recall.
I remember Christian also saying he had handled more yellow NO brace versions than he had RED 45a

In my own collection I have two dashboard-less Victors each in red and in yellow, with axles crimped on the left or on the right side, so to me they are four different variations. All without pips as far as I can tell.
I do think that I have seen more yellow examples without dashboard than red ones. I have seen quite a few over the years, mainly at Houten and Aachen.
I had a yellow one to spare for a while, as I had purchased a better condition example as an upgrade. That spare model (in chipped condition, of course) stayed with me for about two years (2010-2012), as that was how long it took me to find a customer who was willing to pay twenty euros for it.
In my experience there are simply not many collectors who care about interior detail variations enough to be willing to pay more than pennies for such a variation if it is badly chipped. Most people who saw my spare model during the two years I had it for sale thought that twenty euros was way too much for it. I kept on explaining its rarity, but to no avail.
