Ghosty, when did lesney changed the canopycolour from tan to black?

Linus
The Black cover was first shown in the 1973 pocket catalogue on the new Gold issue #69 fitted with the wider 'Superfast' wheels, but there are change over versions where the Blue model with low rear wheel-arches and Narrow 'Superfast' wheels became Gold coloured and these can be found with the Tan cover. Unfortunately the covers can be swapped easily, but it seems the 1973 date can be accepted simply because of the catalogue image.

Thanks a lot Ghosty, I hopefully find some beaters for using their spareparts, but I don't have to tell you that the covers are often missing!

Here is a lot I received recently. In focus is the Big Bull(dozer) with black rollers. I was long looking for one, now I got the whole lot for 5€.
Lucky find is the Pepsi Truck, for more information on that one have a look at the Kingsize/ Superkings section. Always good to have German exclusive colour Atlas! Chevy Van is an update and I think I did not had green Windows on the Cement Truck.

Greetings,
Linus

Hi Linus,

I think the black roller Big Bull is very hard to find - took me a very long time and eagle eyes to spot mine. Looks like another German issue there with the Skip Truck - shame it is missing the skip!

I'm still looking for the Police BMW if you ever want to part with it!

Cheers,
Gavin

When I find a better one, the one in the picture is yours! Don't forget there are two variations: blue and orange dome light!

In my longer absence I found some new pieces for my collection. I also read all the news here, but was a bit busy, so don't get me wrong for my absence.

So here are my new additions:

Lot 1 I got from ebay. This lot was very nice, I filled so many gaps and some condition updates, too.

slightly harder to find Clipper variation with unpainted base and white exhausts

Lot 2 I got from ebay. I was looking for the RW Vw Bug with Silver wheels and of course for the SF Daimler Bus with GIROKASSE labels!

Lot 4 I got from ebay. I was looking for the Lambo Countach, nothing special but I was missing it in good condition. Pink Dragster has a brown/tan base.

Lot 5 I got from ebay. I was looking for the Superkings, allthough I believe it is a code 3 but I'am not sure.

Lot 6 I got from ebay. I was looking for the Kennel Truck in light green (or whatever this colour is called :D ) with white grill and grey base!

Some great condition models in all those lots, looking like you must have paid a fortune for them...

Your Dodge wreck truck in Lot 3 is really a Ford, but I can see you were overwhelmed from getting one with the Red axle clip, you were not concentrating!!

You are let off your mistake by including a #69 Rolls-Royce in Gold in the last lot, well done you are my friend again...

You've been doing very well of late Linus, the #70 Dodge Dragster with the tan base is one that I have still to add to my own collection. :D

Oh fail! You are absolutely right, thank you!
Sadly the roller is missing it's windscreen, as sooo many do. But it is just a fine casting.
Stay focused Ghosty, there are more Rolls Royce comming here!

Thanks Motorman! To tell the truth...I was just lucky with this one. I did not saw any of the bases from this lot in the ebay auction, it was a nice suprise. There are so many variation on this one and this is the only one in displayable condition I have...good start :)

Linus
