I knew that there were several variations on this model but I never dreamed that there were this many.

I still can't believe the size and depth of your collection. You never cease to amaze. You are my HERO!

Seriously, I know most of the KS collectors have keep a running variation list but some of the items you have come up with blow my mind.

Please enlighten us as to how and why you have amassed such a collection?

Thanks for the kind remarks. I decided to collect kings because when I was a kid I could only look at them in the store windows. I could not afford them. I used to save my pocket money to buy a superfast car once in a while.
Another reason was that this range of matchbox toys is not sought after so it is fascinating to see how many variations are out there. As you know, there is very little written on the subject, so keeping good notes is a must.
The collection is comprehensive although I still have a few well known variations to find yet. I guess that is part of the fun of collecting.

The red combine, with red blades and red hubs is stunning. I doubt I'll ever find one in that color combination, much less in that condition!
