Re: 1966 Commercial gift set
Any rare or hard to find model should be double checked. . There are a lot of models that have been copied. I have several rare models and and I have seen questions on most of them at one time or another.. Most of my rare models were purchased from John Gay or Geoffrey Leake and I also dealt with Model Road and Rail in the early 1980's, Don

There's a couple of well respected pre-internet names from the past.

Over and over, we keep seeing the mint green crane from gift sets found in Canada.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Is there enough information on the forum to have a World map showing locations where certain models are being found, discovered or originally sold, might make interesting viewing with I suspect North America becoming quite populated.

Re: 1966 Commercial gift set
That's a really low figure. The last nice mint green crane I saw change hands went for double that (just a crane, no set). I watched someone buy one with the tip of the boom broken off and play wear on the paint and they paid $1,000 USD for the tatty broken model. The last gift set, sold in that condition with a normal green crane, sold for 750.00 pounds sterling. Let's not be ripping off members with very low ball offers. the asking price is already a great deal.
