Im down to about 10 must haves

Eveready truck,
ice cream van,
Ferrari racer,
Landrover with tow hook,
Horse float with horses,
Pontiac two door,
Mustang (about to order a full size one),
Speed boat, blue - for the Mustang,
Cadillac,
Fairlane wagon,
Vauxhall Cresta

They are only memory keepers for me.
Sorry, but I do not care about variations or whether they are restored/refurbished or not.

Maybe another twenty or so if I come across them, but not must haves.

Like all of you, I love them to bits.
The beauty of this forum is I can come here and nothing else in the world matters - only my pre SF 1-75s, few YYs and couple of King Size.

Hi,
I want to have one model each casting from the 1-75 range.
Another 80 are still missing.

Radar. I am pleased you like coming to the forum, there are a few of us who so you are not alone...

Hope you can bring your real Mustang to the forum as well, there will be many of us here wanting to see it, thank's.

As for collecting variations, it is not obligatory to do this and if you are happy with the way you collect models that is fine, again, you are not the only member who does this and the important thing is that you get enjoyment out of the collection.

Can you imagine the agony I have to go through when a new variation of a Matchbox Rolls-Royce is found and I don't have it. I go off my food, I have sleepless nights and endless headaches worrying about when that variation is going to be added to my collection. Trust me, if you are not into collecting variations, don't start...

Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

I achieved that last year. I think it took me about 8 or more years. We should make up a special celebration model!!!
now I'm just working on some of the more significant variations I want, most of them different colour ones.
i've dramatically slowed down this year probably a lot due to I'm now looking for harder to find ones.

I am trying to get one of each of the 75 numbers but not A thru F, or anything that complete. I stopped playing with these when I was 11 (1961, when I got into plastic model cars) so am really mostly interested in A, B,and C releases. They include some that I still have from my childhood (my first childhood, that is) and many that I have bought that are like those my friends had---in other words they all bring on a wave of nostalgia.

"Played with condition" (and when necessary, beaters) are fine with me.

I currently have 60 numbers covered, 30 A's, 21 B's, 7 C's, and 2 D's. All but a few fall into the period of my "play years".

Many of my needs are scarce or at least pricey, so I will be a while yet.

I need: 10, 13, 16, 19, 27, 41, 43 (there are no cheap Hillmans), 52, 55, 58, 66, 73, and 74.

The #74 A is not hard to find, but I want a real good example with all the signage legible, the canopy intact and working, and the trailer hitch intact.

Great fun, this hobby!

Not mint by a LOOONG shot...
