Unfortunately I think the items would be well gone by now as I know his wife was giving him as hard time then about getting rid of them.
I got a number of nice catalogues off him plus five or six power track sets - the slot cars ones.
One was in a special box as it was taken around trade fairs.
I also have photo's of some very interesting dioramas which I presume were used at the trade shows. Shown on there own they could just be something one of the cleaver members on this site could have built but because they can with all the other photo's and the models used are all of this period, 1979/80 I'd have to guess they were used at trade shows.

Anyone have this one in their collection or know anything about it?

It's pictured in an early superfast track set advertisement. Looking at the rear wheels I would have thought it would have been to wide for any of the track sets from around that time, 1971/72. The wide tracks didn't come in until 1978 and it even looks too wide for them!

The text translates as follows:
Test Model 80 FAILED
Fast... yes, but not fast enough
Not tough enough for the Devil's Peak
The types flew off and it left the track at the "Devil's Elbow".

This is therefore a non-Lesney product which (supposedly) was tested on the Superfast test track, but failed to make it to the end.
