Some New Displays

My model room is very modest at this stage. I have a few bits on display in my storage room - but one day!!!!!!

I've used all the space I can, even the inside of the door!

The first display is a Japanese Yesteryear display cabinet containing;

Top Row; Y-12 1912 Ford Model T Van. It is completely plastic and pulls apart. Very much like the Matchbox Plug Buggies from the early 1970's. I think it's a Polish copy.
Y-3 1912 Model T Ford Tanker. I have this model because I have the Fathers Day promotion that it goes with.
Y-12 1937 GMC Van. MICA Star winners van

Middle Row; Y-24 1928 Bugatti Type 44. Chinese copy with friction engine and opening doors. In some ways I'm surprised Matchbox didn't do something like adding friction drive to the Yesteryears to add play value to them and catcher a younger audience.
Y-11 Packard Landaulet. This was my first Yesteryear. At the same time my dad bought a Y-10 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost.
Lledo Double Decker Bus. These were commissioned by Paul Carr. This is one of five hundred.

Bottom row; Y-8 1945 MG TD. Just happened to be hanging around so got put in the display!
Y-20 Mercedes Benz 540K, similar to above although both models knowing me are likely to be Gusval copies.
Y-24 1928 Bugatti Type 44. The same as the one in the middle row. One also came in blue and silver.

These two displays are made form old boutique wine bottle cases. I just put some stick on felt on the shelves and away we go.

Probably not up to the standard of other members transitional collections but it gives me some thing to work on as I have just about everything else.

I'm liking the way the paper stuff is mounted. How are they kept in place on the mount?

be careful the solvents can leech out after time and cause damage

Thanks for the warning Reg.
The framed adverts were made up years ago by someone else and the glue holding the cardboard frame and backing board had come apart and I was able to see the ads were held in place with masking tape.
I've just left them and pinned them up to the back of my model room door.

You mean your renovations have finally culminated in the creation of your model room? We'll have to find an excuse to get to Whanganui for a private viewing session if that's the case...
