A few new additions and a puppy

Post by hydra427 »

Been busy raising a new puppy but decided to take a break and post a few pictures of some new additions. I am actively searching for hard to find models and displays if any of you have something to move. I am so scared to purchase high priced models off of Ebay anymore. It seems like everyone is out making reproductions these days, some specify it as such and some don't. Hopefully you enjoy the pictures and let me know if you have any questions.

Here is what is taking up most of my time right now. Meet Aqua a Silver Labrador. (about 10 weeks in this picture)

Hi John

A really nice collection of model's there, I would be really pleased with any of them...like the TV service van the most out of the bunch, it's one I don't have yet of any variation.

Cute pup too but I'm not fooled by that look, I bet he's full of mischief  A man local to me has 2 of them and told me they are hard work, I see him when I walk my dog down a local canal and his dogs are always swimming in there.

Hi John

Beautiful dog and nice models they look sharp. I agree with not buying rares off Ebay unless you teally 100% trust the seller. I really like the TV Van with GPW I was going to buy the one Graham had offered on his site but someone beat me to it. I know I could trust him for sure. Unfortunately our hobby is being overrun by fakes sold by unscrupulous sellers. They are devaluing the real models.
Thanks for sharing!

Bill, The TV van is from Graham sorry about beating you to it. I am still after some nice #47 Ice Cream Vans with gray plastic wheels. Graham has always done right by me and I am not afraid to pay a little extra to get a nice model from him as I know what I am getting. His grading is along my same lines and I have yet to be disappointed from his site. The yellow wheeled #72 Fordson was from his most recent auction as well. I actually got it for a little less than what I was willing to go so I was quite happy with the deal. Missed out on several others but that will be the case when your budgeting on what you can buy.

I truly believe that the fakes are really hurting the value of models as well. The market is becoming over run with rare wheeled varieties and it is so hard to tell with some of them. I tend to buy most of my high end models from people like Graham that I know and trust or at the Hershey show where I can examine the model closely.

I really wish I could make it out to the MC Gathering in NM as I here that is where you can find some nice stuff. Maybe next year. I am still searching for some nice round displays from the late 60's.

Hate to say it, but the models would go before the puppy! I'm just glad she hasn't destroyed any boxes yet. I keep them up and out of the way but when you are opening a package you have to be quick or she might decide to take a sample.
