Hello everyone
I receive an unboxed addition today of the major pack tank transporter, I was pleased to see its tracks intact but looking at it for a minute I noticed it had crimped axles and I have looked at lots of other examples and they are round ended what I can see.
As far as I can recall without checking them I don't remember any of my plastic wheel models having them, so my question is has anyone got this example or other plastic wheel models with crimped axles.
I have added some photos for you all
Lee

Major packs such as the M1a has hub with soft tyre , M2a Walls GPW, M3a bpw, M4a rollers all have crimped axles on the early issues. So the only other plastic wheel model with crimped axles is the M2a Walls Ice cream truck. If you have a look at Nick’s major pack pages there is a nice photo of the gpw M2a. See Vectis lot number 1562.here
Your M3a Mighty Antar being a first issue usually has silver trim but not all came with it.
These were either 1958 or 1959 issued models as crimping of axles was coming to an end.
Other models that were also 1959 were the M5a Combine Harvester and the M6a Pickfords. So far I have not seen crimped axles on these but it is possible that the pre-production on these may have them.
Does your model have any silver trim to the front bumper and headlights please Lee?
A very nice example by the way.
Bert

Hello Bert
Thankyou for your detailed and interesting reply, it has taught me a little bit more as I am still learning so joining the forum has been the best thing I ever could have done, all you guys are very friendly and helpful.
I have added another photo for you Bert of the cab front, it has a little silver trim to the headlights but not the bumper, and because of your help it was easy to check what I had and I found out my walls ice cream truck has them like you noted, I have added a picture of that too.
Thankyou for having my post put in the right place by the way.
