Ok thanks guys for the advice it's really helpful, and as I mentioned earlier the buyers feedback is private, which I asked him about and he said he opted for it to be private for a few reasons and I don't want people to see what I am buying.

Maybe me been paranoid but I find it weird, I've heard of people keeping feedback private, saying haven't received items and reselling them.

Anyway thanks guys I will think about what to do later.

Lee.

If you use Royal Mail and have to make a claim, they will only refund you the postage and purchase price at best, even with additional insurance. If you buy a rare model cheaply and sell it for 10x the price you can lose out. They also insist that the purchase price is proven via receipts if you make a claim.
Do you know what happens then John if you send out a model you have had for years and that you obviously don't have a receipt for, do you have to show Royal Mail evidence of similarly priced models on say ebay?
It can be a minefield Rob. From my dealings with them, I think they may disallow your claim, apart from the postage, if you can't prove the purchase price. They talk about compensating at the lower price within the market, but that was not my experience.
The item that was lost was above £20 value and international, so the rules may be different in other circumstances.
