Just an update

Post by nickjones »

Hi all.
Wellllll....
Its all fun a tollesbury lately, On sunday night the chandlers office, where the marina broadband is sited, The office was petrol bombed so we have no broadband apart from half a mile away in the pub so if this message gets unreadable you know why, its time to go home lol.
I guess they may be regretting employing the Irish travelers to tarmac the back road into the marina, They completed half of the back road and then came back demanding more money, They were refused but the following night the chandlery & office went up in flames. At least that's the story we have been told.

I would volunteer to write anything anytime about our Regular Wheel Lesneys Nick, but I am afraid I don't understand how anything I can write about has not already been covered in your detailed Site. Your question needs a bit of explanation if I am to help out our fearless leader in any way....From the Ancient Dell in our upstate New York Fireproof Cave.....kwakers

HI,Dick
"spot on" are a brand of diecast toys by tri-ang ,they were made in northern ireland and were spot on 1/42 scale,so this made the motor scooter small and the bus big,in mint condition they go for crazy money,i have started to collect these but am far away from an expert.

Thanks Dick.
Basically everything I know about toys is for the best part already online. I know a few forum members may be interested in writing on subjects not already covered,
There is a small financial incentive. ie I would be happy to share any income from advertising 50 - 50, 50% to you and 50% to cover site costs.
I don't mind if two or more people would like to team up and so (for instance) do the Spot on's or any other subject.
No one is going to get rich doing this but they might see a little christmas bonus.
Dave, You know more than I do mate, There is very little online when it comes to spot on.

The make 'Spot On' was known to me, I just missed that part of Nick's question above in my eagerness to help as I can with his site. I can help with the earliest Husky Toys, but not with your reqest on these "Spot On' brand of toys. They are few and far between over here in the U.S., but I will watch for old collections being sold Dave and let you know if I find any on our side......Sorry for the confusion..... kwakers

Of course something had to give seeing as I am without internet. And it turned out to be my book, All of a sudden there are emails flying back and forth as we try to finalize a few extra images and write captions for them. The book is now in the design stage and is due to be released on 20th October 2016 (at least it is according to Amazon).
I asked Russell (of Bloomsbury publishing) how many issues they expect to sell in the first year, He said 400 to 800, This figure surprised me a little as I could probably sell that many myself without trying too hard. I think he omitted three more 000's, I am a bit puzzled but time will tell, Now, The question is should I really be looking at new yachts. or a leaky rowing boat lol. But I'm glad we don't have to wait until the end of 2017 to find out. only 5 months to go, and counting.....
