This lady looks like she is taking the finished model out of one of the famed biscuit tins and put it in the matchbox.
This could be some sort of box folding machine.
It would explain why some of the new models fresh out of the factory had chips on them. I must admit I always thought only the model parts were stored in the biscuit tins.

These ladies are on the assembly line. They are assembling the MB73 Weasel.
You can see a model up side down in the jig. Could be getting the rivets done. You can see all the parts required to make this model in the trays to her left.

Always good to see people happy in their work. This lady has been sniffing the gum on the back of the labels she is going to apply to the model and this is how the models ended up with the wrong label applied or put on the wrong way around!!!
Looks like a labelling machine. She is applying the Swap Rat labels to the base of the model - MB30 Swamp Rat. She must have been doing some MB17 Londoner buses earlier in the day looking at the table.

This photo is inside the Eastway Foundry. These are die casting machines.

This machine is producing plastic components most likely wheels.

This is inside the main Lee Conservency factory and the famed biscuit tins full of matchbox components. Unfortunately there is no clue as to what could be in the various boxes.

I hope these photo's are of interest to members. There is plenty more.
Let me know if you want to see them.

Cheers Steve

Excellent work Steve, thanks for posting. I remember biscuit tins like those when I was a kid, my Dad had some in his garage for storing and organizing allsorts of things.

Broken biscuits 6d (2.5 pence) a bag at Woolworth's. All their biscuits were in tins like these with a paper lining.
