Here are the last of the random photo album pages. At some stage I'll get the albums back out again and photograph them topic by topic.

A treasure trove of photos - where would you ever begin to catalogue and sort?
Can see that you'll have to have a scanning party - I'll have to organise a trailer to get my work's photocopier to your place.
Many thanks for sharing Steve

As I said in an earlier posting, these do warrant proper scanning and I know you said it would take a long time, but I think I can speak for many members here that we really would like to see them in better detail, so can you possibly put some sort of plan together for some of the more important pictures. Can I suggest you concentrate on the factory buildings and production line pictures, these can reveal so much for us scrutineering type collectors and may answer many questions that have cropped up on the forum from members.

If only we were in the same country together, I would go out of my way to visit you and get all the scanning done for you. These are the nearest thing we have to actual archives from Lesney and are precious and I thank you again for bringing them to our forum and not just any old forum... :D

20 years ago I was right on your door step Kevin.
I lived at Bisham Abbey National Sports Centre in the village of Bisham just out of Marlow. I built up my collection over ten years of going to all the different swap meets. After ten years I found I had most of the things I wanted and anything I got was coming out of Germany or from the USA.
Out of frustration of going to swap meets and not finding anything I wanted I expanded my collecting and ended up with all these photo's, lots of matchbox copies until I got fed up collecting them realising everything Lesney made was copied somewhere around the world. I then moved into oops and came back home.
My main collecting focus had been catalogues and any Lesney related paper work plus track sets.

I'll give the scanning ago but I think I might wear the scanner out!!!!!

Yes, I know Bisham well, done a couple of rescue and recovery jobs there, I even had my own personal code to get into the sports centre because we kept getting calls from motorists broken down in the car parks!

If only we could turn back time and get together!

Thank's for the back story Steve, much appreciated.

Right, have got the albums out again and have tried to do a scam. Ha! Ha!, that was supposed to be scan!!
Not quite sure how to get it on to the site but I'll give it a go.
I thought this was an important photo to scan Ghosty as it's the Chingford factory where the Yesteryears were assembled.I hope you agree!

Can't get scan to load. A note comes up saying, The extension pdf is not allowed.

Help!!

Just trying to load the scanned image to the forum will be no good, it will result in a too large file size. I would make a copy of the scanned image, rename it to something suitable...Chingford Factory, open the image in paint (sorry Mac users, you can't!), resize it down to 600 or 700 pixels, hit the Save icon and it will give you options as to what you want it to be saved as. The best format is Jpeg (jpg), then do your usual to post this smaller image to the forum.
