My Shiny New (Old) Toy

Post by Ewan »

I don't really like plated models but made an exception for this. Perhaps it's the actual style of the Lincoln Zephyr but I love it. Made in the US by Erie in the 30s I believe.
Having looked around a bit it seems that Erie made a few other chrome plated models and 2 sizes of Zephyr (this being the larger at around 1:37) some of which were painted.

I like that Ewan, looks fairly well proportioned. I have not heard of that brand before, but then it is American and its difficult keeping tabs on all their toy and model products.

That's a nice looking model Ewan. I've not heard of Erie before either but I like models from this period. I had an enjoyable scout round Google and Erie Parker made a few models, larger and smaller than 1:43. Seems they specialised in Lincolns, Packards, various trucks and a few futuristic cars. They apparently were based in Pennsylvania in the 1930s. Perhaps others can supply more info.
