Q: Where does Princess Leia go shopping for clothing and such?

A: At the Darth Maul, of course.

I figure this is a good spot to post the following as I did not see a Hot Wheels section here.
I do not typically collect Hot Wheels except for the ones that survived my childhood as I still have them. I do not typically collect newer stuff either as my collection is centered around vintage models of the era of my childhood. However, I grew up on Star Wars and appreciate the fact that any Hot Wheels can be one day considered a collector's item as they have the beloved brand name and are collected by so many. Mattel (parent company of Hot Wheels and Matchbox as we all know) has teamed up with Disney (parent company of Star Wars franchise now). They have released so many new Star Wars toys with the new movie installment. Last summer. my son received one of their new diecast star ship models at a birthday party and despite not being what I collect, we have both become addicted to them. I have the original 1977/78 collection by Kenner (except for the allusive and crazy expensive Tie Bomber) and was intrigued by these new Hot Wheels. This is what my son and I have collected so far by keeping an eye out at local toy and department stores.

Firstly, the original 1977/78 Kenner Collection (minus one as already as noted) and then the new Hot Wheels series. The Hot Wheels are about 3" and of very sturdy design primarily of diecast with plastic pieces. There may be some that appear to be duplicate, but we found that there are variations (colour schemes, decals, shaped parts, models in different positions, etc.) so we have been picking up the variations as well. For example, X Wings can be found with wings opened or closed. The Millennium Falcon was found with a "squared" radar dish as well as a "rounded" radar dish. Each model comes with a "Flight Navigator" which is a clear plastic stand that can also be clipped to your finger so you can move your hand around as if the model flies with your hand.

As much as I loved Star Wars, I never had a single model or figure, much prefering to collect the videos, books and magazines. That is a great collection you have shown so far Shane and by doing this, you are by default, now our expert on these Star Wars models... :D

Thank's for showing these and yes, this is a good place for them and anyone else who wants to post Star Wars material.
