My Corgi and Dinky collection

Post by wonkywheels »

Here are some of my Corgis and Dinkys that have just come out of the cupboard for the first time for many years! A pleasure to see them all again.

Welcome wonkywheels. I have had to resize your picture to a smaller file size for easier viewing.

Try and resize your pictures in the 'Paint' programme on your computer, so they are around the 600 pixel size.

I should have said Dinkys not a Corgi in sight. The Corgis must have been on the lounge table at the time.

Mr Wheels, have you put all those lovely models back in the cupboard or are they still available for further pictures. I would like to see the number 150 Silver Wraith in more detail if possible.

Well I have not looked at my diecast collection since 2010 as I have the Model Price Guide for 2010 in front of me.Well ,I never. I have two number 150 Silver Wraiths. The one in the photo with white tyres and the other with black tyres. They look identical. One I bought when it came out.I remember it was one of the first with suspension and plastic windows.Silver lady came off in early sixties as I was quite rough with them .Most are under piles of the earth in the garden of the house we lived in then. Probably will be dug up by an archaeologist in 2100 and they will wonder why they were all left in a heap.Perhaps as a religious offering or for some ritual ceremony.'Fraid not. Just left them there. My favourite Dinky's are the ones from my childhood and if there is one that I would pick out as having a particular memory attached to it it would be number 131 .The Cadillac Eldorado. It epitomised American cars.Pink, long, low and convertible. And dad had some boring Austin at the time!! I think it is in the front row of my photo. And the brown suited gent has never left his driving seat.
