Atlas Dinky Studebaker





Foden Wagon with Chains. Colour is too dark, but didn't look that way in the auction photo I bought it from, chain is rusty. I will replace the chain, remove and colour match the wheels to the rest. I'll correct the Tyres and then this will probably be the best of this Mk1 colour scheme Chain lorry I will get, they're just too expensive for me.

Taunus is one of my favourite later Dinkys, Germany's version of the MK11 Cortina? Or a separate car altogether?
Foden looks good mate, don't despair on an original, mine didn't cost (that) much, it was just listed badly.

A previous owner has seen fit to paint the front side-lights in Red on the Taunus, these were not painted when new. Not sure if you want to try and remove it with the correct fluid!

It wasn't until the 1970 Mark 3 Cortina/TC Taunus that the two cars became very similar. However, that didn't stop Dinky using the Taunus glazing unit in their Mark 2 Cortina. It looks like Dinky also used the same basic interior for both toys, apart from the hole for the steering wheel being on opposite sides.

I must say that I find Dinky's Taunus much more attractive than their rather disappointing Mark 2 Cortina.

I felt the same way when I got my original Dinky MkII Cortina, it just did not look right, but at that time I had nothing else to compare it with so just carried on playing with it, but it was not a favourite toy.

Here's an interesting one I just picked up this afternoon barely two hours after it was listed.

Side plates appear to be aligned on both sides and have consistent playwear to the rest of the car so look like they have been there for some time. The bottom line of text is unreadable in the photo's and I will update photo's once received.

Doing some additional research on the Hertz logo history, the second line is likely to be Rent A Car. The trapezoid logo was used from 1918 to 1978. So the labels / decals are at least 38 yeas old in their own right. I will try and get provenance off the seller.

Hertz NZ promo piece......who knows.

How is this for Karma

The seller of the above Triumph contacted me and advised they had another Dinky I could purchase if I wished. The only other Dinky they have is below.

Given I had a box until not too long ago to be offered box and Moke now is gobsmacking. Not mint but good enough.

I rarely look at auctions at work, but for some bizarre reason I did today, spotted the Triumph and its unusual door plates and now this.......

I never really got into Military toys, but the Dinky AEC Helicopter transporter is fabulous, I would happily have that one, NOT for my collection, but to play with, I think it looks great.
The Prisoner of course I have commented on in another thread somewhere and it brings back so many memories of the TV series that I was hooked on.

I was No.6 at that time and have visited...The Village in Port Meirion, I went inside No.6's apartment (a gift shop selling you know what!) and managed to secure myself a piece of roof tile outside the apartment hoping at some point in the filming it has been seen on TV...

I no longer have my Moke...
