I have looked at this and there was no definitive answer on the official phpBB website, but another phpBB forum user asked something similar and actually wrote his own code to prevent this from happening and the code works on the minimum post count method before that poster can then send PM's.

Well I have been here since day one and I have never received a spam PM so I guess the answer is no they don't have access to the PM system until they have posted their three 'beginner' posts and have them approved.
Last week in two days we had 200 individual registered members visit the forum, this would equate to approximately 2000 registered and unregistered visitors total.
The forum send out roughly 5000 pages a day. 7000 on a good day and 4500 on a bad day. also the page loads for the forum are up between 10% and 20% on last year.

Nick has provided a great forum for collectors and contributors/posters provide a wealth of information.
For many that is enough.

We have shown ourselves to be friendly and welcoming of new members, evidenced by new posters.

Those who denigrate our hobby with fraud/abuse/misinformation are given ample opportunity to have a voice BUT the depth of knowledge on the forum is able to expose, give evidence and bring to the light their misdeeds.

The more conversations we have the more knowledgeable we will become.

Don't be afraid to post and share, as they say ..........

Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.
