So, if you like it. Here is one especially for you.kwakers wrote:At least now this rare display is priced within reason, and will possibly find a new home very soon. The Seller has created his own problem here though. Over the time of all these price reductions, the impulse Buyer has now had plenty of time to think about this smaller display's re-sale value when compared to a much larger and more detailed 1-75 original Lesney model display. Perhaps that same impulse Buyer may now take a chance and wait for the "next" price reduction after watching all the much higher "Buy It Now" prices on this smaller "New Model" display come and go.
On a 50 year old original display like this one, there is no 'market price' because few others like it even exist. This one is as Mint as they come after all those years, its patina and small flaws are part of its draw to collectors like myself. Most every original Lesney display sale I have followed lately has surprised me by closing at a much higher price than I had thought it was worth. Thanks Fox for this very interesting link, we may all learn something here.......or maybe not... I do love this original 1962 display though....

From my point of view (France) I saw many more German than English ones.
Just look at Vectis for instance.

You virtually saw mine now.
It was used by a famous Brussels toy shop "Baboin". When ending its activity in 1984 it was sold to a private collector (that I don't know) who kept it during 30 years and I bought it. It's near mint. And with no marks or woodsticks glued behind...

Re: Display stand question.
Very nice Fox! I like your display with it's assorted Rolls in their various blue shades a lot more than the one being sold with only one car displayed.
Ghosty, I knew the release date of that 44A Rolls, but I dated the stand a few years later than the car's release. Using logic though, I was too new on that 1964 date on this display. Lesneys were only adding about one "New" model a month during 1958 and during 1959 production years, limiting this display's design to those 2 years if the "New Models" header is taken literally. After the addition of the T Bird #75 in 1959, there were only occasional replacements for the original 75 Lesney model designs. Was one model discontinued and replaced with "A New Model" every month after 1959 to make this display's header correct for 1960 and later year's use? Perhaps a Lesney factory dealer book will turn up to accurately date this Great display for us. kwakers
