Replacements tires for later MOY´s?

Post by Miller »

I tried at modelcarparts, but it seems, that they don´t have replacement tires (rubber kind with slot) for the later Yesteryears.

Does someone have a source?

I find there are plenty of 'Beater' models at toy fairs with decent tyres still in tact. If you are a perfectionist, you will have to be careful what tyres you put on what 'Yesteryears', they are not all the same. If you just want tyres for conversions based on 'Yesteryear' models, then no problem.

We don´t have that much toy fairs over here in Germany, beaters are mostly sold via Ebay. Even i you get beaters for a small money, p&p add to much to the price, especially if you buy some beaters and the tires break apart again... :(

I see your problem. I do not know of a ready source of tyres for post-73 'Yesteryears'. Models that use some of these tyres are still being made available through the Matchbox Club (formally MICA), I wonder if they would be prepaired to supply some to you.

Guten Morgen Roland,
Do you mean tires like shown in the picture?
I have 4 of them which you can have. Do you also need older YY tires, I might also have a few.
I can send them (for free) with the BENZ.
Gerrit.

I do hope you are not going to send the tyres off of that Black Model 'T' Ford, that is the rare US Matchbox club issue from 1976!
