Conveyor belt replacement - any experience existing?

Hello,
I do own two conveyors which urgently need new belts.
I recognized that they are available meanwhile as reproductions.
How complicated is it - is disassembly of the conveyor required - or are they to be glued?
Any experiene is more than welcome.

Hi Wolfgang.

This is something I can not directly help with, but we do have members here who are into Corgi and hopefully into restoring Corgi, so fingers crossed they come forward with some assistance for you.

From memory the model you mention is riveted, so I would think it will have to be taken apart by drilling out the rivet head just to get access to replace the belt.

I would have thought that Tinman's tricks with replacement bulldozer tracks would be applicable here. (I've had a quick search but can't find the right thread. Perhaps someone else would be kind enough to oblige?)

I thought about "Tinman" but then thought he was Matchbox specific, so may be a bit unsure with Corgi. The tracks could be fitted by cutting and re-gluing the ends together but I think this is not a good practical method as you could simply do this with old tracks if they are still with the model.

If the belt is rubber, just cut and mount it and then glue it with superglue.

If this works for viton seals, it should work for such a belt

If I remember, the method for the tracks was along the lines of cutting the replacement track, feeding it through the model and then gluing it end to end before positioning it on the model correctly after it was dry. I don't know the conveyor model or the material the belt is made of so this method may work but if the belt is thin, would it be possibly to overlap the material enough to get a good fixing and place the join out of sight?

I would try to cut the belts at the upheavals, that would increase the adhesive surface.
