2 Pre Production Tow Trucks that would have been a great addition to the line. But never made it.

They would have been a great addition to the line. Or, better yet, keep the cab and put a pickup bed on the back.

The hobby needs more Tow Trucks, so it is a shame these never made it.

These are awesome.
They look like they belong to the Superkings remake in 2005(?).
I think Mattel decided releasing only Muscle Cars in this remake range.
Maybe jim is able to give us some more information.

There were some nice convertibles and a few with 'vinyl' roofes in this range and their are not often seen, at least here in Germany I think.
I found one model of a 1971 Dodge Challenger, the box says it's limited on 20 500 pieces, which may explain why I have not seen that many of them.
Here is a link to the model I'am referring to. (should not be any advertisement, just an example)

Yes, these are from the remake, notice the Holst truck came n the wrong box. They would have been a very popular addition to the line. No trucks were made, only muscle cars. In the future I can post the line if anyone is interested. The muscle cars are beautiful models and I am surprised they were not able to continue.

Here are a few pics. Some look like duplicates as many are pre pros mixed in.

The first is a pre pro on top.

Thank's Jim, they are fabulous, love the Mustang and I love the retro design and artwork on the boxes.

I like the black El Camino and the burnt-orange MoPars. To think these things were clogging up Big Lots stores not long after I got out of the Navy...
