Ebay Messaging Problem

Post by johnboy »

I haven't been able to access my ebay messages for 2 or 3 days and there are complaints online about this too. Ebay have told me it is a problem with BT in the UK. Given that all other websites I use and most of ebay is working for me, I'm not convinced yet. I've tried going through ebay.uk and .com to no avail. Does anyone else have this problem?

Not me (and I have the misfortune to be with BT).

I wanted to send a message to a seller asking for some extra pictures of a model. On my home page there was no message compose facility! I sent him a message directly to his email address, but got no responce. I now find the model I was interested in on a 'BIN' is 'Ended' but it does not indicate if it has been sold or just taken down from sale. Now if I look at the ebay page with the 'BIN' model, extra pictures have been added that would have confirmed to me the model was genuine and I could have brought the model outright, not arsed around trying to get those extra pictures!!!

I have sent another email directly to him to see if he still has the model and is willing for me to collect it and give him the cash!

I have been registered for quite some time with no intention of bidding on anything (I would not be able to control my spending), but it helps with the various issues we see crop up. I have brought one model so far and collected it myself from a Guy living in the same town, so that was good, especially as I turned up in the Rolls and his work mates had to come outside and have good look around the car (it was at a Vauxhall body shop, so they don't get many Rollers in... :D ).

Thanks all. I had a bit of luck around the same time as you Jason, got in to a few messages, but I've since tried and had problems with orders and messages. Hopefully it will sort itself out.

Well ebay had widely publicised the recent problems as isp issues, which was quite frankly daft. The problems now seem to be sorted and I received an email after my online chat with customer support to say there was in fact an issue on the site and the fix was done. Anyone having issues still is advised to initially clear their cache/cookies, restart their router and breakdance on their head for two minutes (ok I made that last bit up).
