It seems a grave injustice has been done to a collector. Someone who wanted nothing more than to join here and share their collection while hanging out with other like minded persons ... has been falsely accused.

Since no proof was ever produced of these accusations, I think the condemning posts should be removed from the Hall of Shame thread and that we owe Mr. Thompson an apology. I say we all owe him an apology because the accusations were never backed up with any evidence and suspicions simply became a conviction without any proof having ever being submitted (past or present).

There should be a set of guidelines agreed upon to prevent this from happening in the future.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

The guideline has to be that all accusations made on this Forum have to be backed up by evidence, i.e. no finger pointing without a smoking gun.

Hi TNT,
Some amazing models you are showing here. I have a question about the No36 Opel.
Looking at your very first picture of the grey plastic base I can see small holes in some of the letters, unfortunately I do not have this model but I do have another model with a plastic base. My one looks the same as a standard base so I am a little bit concerned about these holes and how they would get there.
I have had to make the picture smaller , I have circled some of the areas in question.

Maybe you could also show a picture of the base straight on rather than at an angle as well.
Many thanks

Well spotted! That's a very interesting observation, Jason.
To add to your query, I've just had another look at Ghosty's post on the first page of this thread and the base shown in that photograph is what I would expect of injection-moulded plastic - absolutely smooth with no pinprick surface defects.
I can't recall ever seeing anything similar on any Lesney-manufactured plastic components (which were all injection moulded). However, what those holes do remind me of is of when you're trying to cast something and small bubbles of air get trapped on the surface of the mould.

This one has bubbles too. Looks pretty darn good for a copy though.

Thanks for the link mboxmike, just ended as well. Looks very similar with the holes.

I'm not convinced of that, I think Stil may be resin molding his parts.

I'll be perfectly honest and say that I'm not absolutely certain what resin moulding entails, but if it involves pouring liquid into a mould then that would fit with the air bubble theory.
