Very nice pick-up! If it's not too much hassle, could you post some pictures of the K45A, please?

WOW! Dave, you dark Horse, I thought we had seen some big collections elsewhere on this forum, here's you hiding all those 'Kingsize' from us, pretending to be the Dinky King!

Serial Collector......Prior to the Kngs it was race and Rally Fords. Hence the user name, single pic below as off topic. Recognise the Cabinet from the Dinky thread? Album available at the link below. Jump around the other albums in the library if you have the time or interest.

Kings and Fords are listed on our local auction site should anyone be interested. Boxed Kings start on page 2. Can ship overseas for forum members.

Too many Kings in the cabinet equaled too much weight for the wall fixings of the cabinet. The whole cabinet and contents did a 360 off the wall and landed where the wife usually parks her car. Thankfully she was out as the full 360 lessened the damage. Had the cabinet fell on to the car all the kings would have dropped onto the concrete garage floor from a metre and a half up.

When the wife got home she called me outside. I hit the garage door opener, door went up and my heart sank! I just closed the door and went back inside the house, only venturing out to clean up hours later. Thankfully insurance allowed me to replace the cabinet and the more damaged models. The album below was put together for the insurance assessor.

Imagine how you would feel if this was your cabinet.....

I wouldn't recommend it as an experience!!! The New Cabinet in the garage is dynabolted to the block work and is not moving, even in an earthquake. I'll have to get some shots of my boxed Dinky which have replaced the Kings in the garage cabinet.

Thank's Dave, like you I probably could not tackle it, I'd have to go away and have a good cry, a good drink and pluck up the courage to do some rescuing!

The K45A does indeed look far, far better than mine. I'd love to have some of those larger Matchbox, but can't justify a purchase right now. A real shame about that die-cast disaster, too...hope no serious damage was done.
