Long awaited project nears completion

Post by oldfart »

Thought I would bring you all up to date on my latest project. It is an oak display case for some of my "Matchbox" collection. I still have to install the hinge, attach case to its base and of course install the three glass sides and cover glass.
When finished it will be 30" tall and 8' long. It will be placed behind the big L shaped couch in the den.
Please note the roadbed that I used.

Thanks,

I like it James, it looks good, will enjoy seeing the finished article hanging in the den, thanks for showing.

man thats cool...looking forward to seeing the finished product!
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Looks like it's coming along very well there and might I add, that's a very nice workshop you have there to build such projects.

Nice project James. If you have not already told us before and for the benefit of new members, what is the story behind doing this, if you don't mind.

What a fantastic project. I too am jealous of the amazing workshop. I have a similar display (photo attached) but yours will be far superior. I like the way you will display the boxes. Looking forward to seeing the final product! Macdonald
