Metallic Red(!) Y16-1
Metallic Red(!) Y16-1
Did anyone else notice this listing for a metallic red Yesteryear Y16-1 Spijker?
The listing states “Metallic red – the same colour as used on the Y7 Rolls-Royce chassis and roof. Not to be confused with the extremely rare solid maroon version”.

If this is genuine then it will make a nice investment for the lucky owner. These rarely come up for sale on the open market. If a set of good clear pictures could be viewed it should be possible to date the model fairly precisely to help establish the model's true status.

I did see those and a few are just about acceptable after some enhancement.

That's a bit worrying. You would have thought that something as unusual as this would have had first-class photographs.GHOSTHUNTER wrote:I did see those and a few are just about acceptable after some enhancement.

I have bought from this seller a couple of times (just received a budgie vw today) and although descriptions are not the best there have been no problems as of yet

I've also had numerous purchases from the seller and all mine were good.

The one picture you have posted here on the forum is suffering from incorrect White balance adjustment, making all colours wrong. I have all those pictures saved from when we was looking at this model over on Mick Flack's 'Moyboyz' forum and will correct the colours the best I can, then I can asses the model.Idris wrote:That's a bit worrying. I don't expect any bad dealings from the seller of this example, he is unlikely to be responsible for any fakery, not his thing, so he is probably selling it from a job lot of models or for someone else (always a good tip to move fake models, let someone else sell it!) but it will need to be scrutinized thoroughly before any conclusion of it's status.

Clear picture of the baseplate is all I need. Can then give a definitive answer. I'm away at the moment and only have an old netbook with me so cannot see the pictures very well. There are cating details that are peculiar to the maroon and green Spykers that don't appear on others.

Is this a known variation? If so, does it have colour trial or pre-production status?YYS4BOB wrote:Clear picture of the baseplate is all I need. Can then give a definitive answer.
