4d (blue) Stake Truck

Post by RVREVO »

Alrighty... added a 4D Stake Truck with blue stakes.
Bought it from Jeff Whitlock local collector who has many fine rare lesney's.
Cab has few chipped paint along the edges, and the plastic is warped.
Currently misplaced a large part of my collection courtesy of spring cleaning.

Quick question: will the photos be limited to a specific size? mine tend to be quite big.

The blue stakes is not hard to find here in the UK but seem to be fairly scarce elsewhere.

These Blue-Stake trucks are not at all rare.Vectis had recently sold about 12 or more in job-lots on the same auction.Location could be the issue here but quite a few on Ebay at all times.
Nice find anyway.

Yes, fairly straight forward to pick up but I do like them. I think the blue shade variations are the thing to watch out for.

Am I the only one who finds most things easy to find until you actually decide you're going to buy one? That's when they suddenly become either impossible to find or impossibly expensive ;)

Could be Richard. I can't recall seeing many here at all - I purchased my example when I lived in the UK, where it was fairly inexpensive. I suspect that Jeff will have bought this one offshore too.

Still, it is a win some, lose some situation here, with some variations that are very rare elsewhere turning up reasonably often here in NZ.

Cheers,
Gavin
