Spot the gems.......
Won this unusual mixture over the weekend, contains quite a few that are gems for me.......
I Don't know too much about the American diecast so I'm prepared to be informed on these?
Cheers

I wonder if you yourself got this lot for the Green Dublo Dinky MG, or the Yellow open tourer which looks like the Dinky Sunbeam Talbot?

Re: Spot the gems.......
i see a road roller in the box thats in the front of the picture...looks like an early one too!
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.
Re: Spot the gems.......
Yes, there's not one, but two light green Dinky ( not Dublo, but close in size) 35c MG Sports cars, light green could be pre war, either way post war production stopped in 1948. So seemingly good early modelsGHOSTHUNTER wrote:I wonder if you yourself got this lot for the Green Dublo Dinky MG, or the Yellow open tourer which looks like the Dinky Sunbeam Talbot?

The over painted tourer may clean up with Solvents and a replacement windscreen, the original Dinky paint can take a lot and still cut and polished well.
There are still a few more.....
Re: Spot the gems.......
The Road roller looks to be early, play worn front roller is slightly out of character with the condition of most of the other diecast and plastic cars and it does seem to be the only Matchbox. Although there do seem to be Matchbox accessories, horses, etc, in one of the bags at the back.Brad Pittiful wrote:i see a road roller in the box thats in the front of the picture...looks like an early one too!
My main gems are still unidentified......and some of the American castings seem reasonably early. The question is are they original paint or over painted? Estimated delivery two weeks, so time will tell
Cheers
Re: Spot the gems.......
I see a nice range of Tootsietoys including the Navion aircraft, Barclay, Midgetoy, possible Goodee toy, possible Its A Beaut toy, unknown probably Charbens or Benbros UK Stage coach, Dinky or other UK motorcycles and sidecars, small/tiny Britains or MasterModels/Wardie Tractor, tiny black Ford in top right corner might be a Dyna-Mo.
I have heaps of US toys including the hard to identify Goodee, Its a Beaut, Dyna-Mo toys so if you need more info check out my site http://toysnz.com and if you have Dinky spares you'd like to part with let me know (I'm in Wellington)

Re: Spot the gems.......
G'day Ian
Well that's an all encompassing summary!!
I was initially attracted by the Dinky's, those mentioned above by Ghosty, But primarily by the 37b Police Motorcycle (blue and grey in the trailer centre of pic), with white tyres likely to be Pre War production 1937-1940. The two 42d Police Motorbilke Patrol and sidecar models whilst later black tyre versions i.e 1946-49 are still desirable.
The blue tractor top left looks like a Britains Lilliput, but we'll see when this lot arrives.
I hit buy now on this lot not based on the initial photo above, but because of the detailed ones below. There's still some mystery in the bags and the box in the foreground. The Lionel Railway bogies and other components will need investigation!
I keep going back and discover a little more each time. The small black vintage cars and the small green, blue and red cars top left are particularly intriguing, along with the multiple Taxi / Fire Chief sedans.

Difficult to tell, but that 1a Road Roller could be the pale green version.

I thought that too. The stage coach could be a morestone which is quite hard to find especially in good condition like this one.Idris wrote:Difficult to tell, but that 1a Road Roller could be the pale green version.
