Silver Shadow Coupé MPW

When Roland (Miller) introduced his custom Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Coupé MPW last week, out of a RW #24c and a SF #69, I was immediately interested and vowed to make a similar attempt.

Unfortunately Roland's attempt was not successful, but he is aiming to do a second try.
In the mean time I set about my custom Mulliner Park Ward Two Door fixed Head Coupé.

Still lot to do. Not sure which interior I am gonna use. The 24C interior needs to be adapted, in order to make that fit.
But as far as I am concerned it is on the right track.

B.T.W. Roland, like you said. you need to "dremel" away a large part of the #69 rear parcel shelf, making a similar curve as the window unit. Next the window unit can be fitted. It worked for me.

That really looks good! How did you edit the rear shelf? There are two upheavals under the soft top. Did you grind them away?
These upheavals were the reason why i failed. I kept the lower window frame on the RW 24c roof and dremeled the rear shelf of the SF 69 to fit the frame. Sadly the frame broke away and i have to wait for a new donor RW24c.

Could you please take a photo from the rear section of your costum!?

I will modify the interior of the RW 24c to fit into it, because the SF 69 has no rear parcel shelf. You will have to cut away the stick out pips at the bottom of the interior and a small section at the rear wheel arches. The towhook will be glued to the new interior.

Dear Roland,
I used my dremel to grind away the upheavels in order to make them flush with the boot section.
Still the window unit would not fit in that "tunnel". In order to fix that, I took the window section and measured the space and curve it needed at the parcel shelf. Next I took my dremel, and cut away the part of the parcel shelf which was obstructing the window unit.
I will now take some light sanding paper to clean things up. I will also use the 24c interior and modify the inner body to make it fit.

This is a great topic and great that one forum member with his custom model has inspired another forum member to create a similar custom model, thank's Guys for bringing all this interaction to our forum.

Now, If I were to make a similar model out of a #24c and #69c, I would use the interior from the #69, simply because...

A, it was meant to be in that model in the first place and...
B, it is the right interior layout and design for the 2 door Silver Shadow by H.J. Mulliner.

...and just for completeness in these comments, PLEASE, anybody doing a similar custom, try not to cut-up the rare 'Long Seat' moulding found in the Blue #69c model as discussed here...viewtopic.php?f=8&t=358&start=10#p2726

its looking good so far ,
it took a fair while for it to register in my grey cells. that the red matchbox shadow is a 4 dr .

I am gonna use the 69c interior, and I have glued the 24c parcel shelf on it, which now makes a very good fit.
I also glued on a lip around the curved edge of the rear window, and filed it into shape and the appropriate thickness.
It was part of window frame from a plastic model kit.

Now it is ready for the first coat of primer.

You got some great ideas and i think, i will follow them! As the body of the 69 anyway needs to be painted, i will fill up the to wide dremeld sections and follow your instructions.

BTW - keep the softtop! You will like my next idea
