Unidentifed from my collection

I have acquired a collection of diecast vehicles and related items now totalling about 3000. I have many that I can't identify and need help so I can complete my catalogue.

I will list them from time to time but start with this.

Don't know who made it, Crescent or Chad Valley would be a guess, but it looked like this...

They look great when they're complete. You don't see British Made too often.

I believe that the stand is by Crescent. In the photo of the complete set, the stand and 2 red things (air lines?) look Crescent but I'm sure the pumps are Wardie.

Thank you, I agree the pumps look Wardie, but I have yet to find a Wardie site that shows this base. I had this as part of a bundle of parts but included with it was this:

Which could be a Wardie and may have been part of the set.

I think I have found the petrol pump that this wardie was based on

Thank you, I agree the pumps look Wardie, but I have yet to find a Wardie site that shows this base.

I'll check my book when I get home and see if they (Wardie/MasterModels/Kemlow) show any photos with a base like this...

I've checked my book "The Illustrated Kemlows Story" by Paul Brookes (ISBN 978 0 9561879 0 1) and have found your base listed as part of the K18 Service Station (curved base and 5 locating lugs for the 2 pumps, 2 outside stands and centre sign stand) issued from 1955 at the price of 2/11d - considered RARE with the oval Esso pump globes. It is important to note this set was issued with two different styles of pump -the later set (also issued in 1955 and considered SCARCE with the SQUARE pump globes) also sold for 2/11d. Different boxes were produced for the two different sets but both are marked "A Wardie Product" with the earlier box also carrying the legend "Another Master Model".

There is also K18 Filling Station on a curved base but with only 3 locating lugs for the two pumps and a centre sign stand.

I apologise for my inability to post photos of the K18 items at this time but will do so later if I can get a decent shot of the book's photos...

Positive ID.

I have heard from a collector who tells me it is pictured in a book by Paul Brookes called The Illustrated Kemlow Story. This probably makes it a Master Models, Wardie, product. I have ordered the book. Kemlows did not make die cast toys for very long but did make some for other companies. The forecourt base is marked 'British Made' which throws me a little as I try to find consistency when trying to identify. Models such as Dinky are almost always marked 'Made in England' but one model is marked 'Made in Liverpool' and Louis Marx made a few models marked Made in England and then produced models in Wales and marked Made in Great Britain.

So I wait in anticipation for the book!
