Yes, I did find something exciting, calls itself Jason and it gave me a bag of Rolls-Royce models...

It would have been nice to see you Fred, I am sure you would have seen me as I tend to have to stay till the end, I am a member of the model club that organizes the event and so there are many club members who I need to chat to.

I collected a few models from a good friend by the name of Patrick Trench who had reserved them for me out of harms way, nothing special just some spare 'Yesteryear' models he thought I might want.

The best item for me was a couple of drawings from Meccano Ltd detailing new models to be made. One of them was for the big Rolls-Royce Phantom V on catalogue number 152 and the other was for a Rolls-Royce Camargue that was never issued, dated 1978. I new of the Corgi prototype Camargue, but never caught wind of one from Dinky!

The Dinky Camargue drawing sounds intriguing, I look forward to reading some more details!

I have bought a few items from Patrick Trench over the years, but not this time round. It was a nice surprise to see Gary Hames at Windsor, whom I hadn't seen since he closed his shop over 10 years ago.

I hope to be going to Sandown in March, so perhaps I'll be able to meet some forum members then.

Now there's a name from the past! Glad to hear that he's still alive, but sorry to read that he's closed his shop.

Hi Marcel, is that a one day return ticket?
Where did you make the reservation, I might want to go as well.

The more the merrier. Holger will also be joining us from Germany, and hopefully I can round up some more of the Brit YY collectors (don't want to be outnumbered by collectors of the little'uns). :D

Gerrit, Did you receive my last message with more info.
I travel one night to London, then whole day in the UK (from 4.45 till 21.30) and then next night back.
Yes the price is for a return but the sonner you book they cheaper it is.
I have been to Sandown for 22 euro return ticket in the past (for the Amsterdam-London return ticket) in the past.
In London I buy a 6 zone day travel card. Esher (place of the Sandown event) is just one station outside the 6th zone but never had problems with that as i travel there in the very early morning. You can use the card for all your journeys within the city for the rest of the day.
If I remember right that card will cost you 8 gbp.
I buy an early bird ticket at Sandown to get in early and the last time I went that early bird ticket was 10 gbp.
Far better then waiting till 10.30 when the public gets in and pay half price to get in comapring to the early bird ticket.
